Smile File -Summer 2006
Porcelain veneers are ultra-modern porcelain shells that are bonded directly to your own teeth to fix and beautify your smile. They can be thinner than a contact lens, yet so strong and so transformative that they are sometimes referred to as "instant orthodontics."
One of our wonderful patients, Jeff, recently had eight veneers done on his upper teeth. Jeff wanted to restore a couple of cracks in the front teeth, and to generally make his smile more uniform and whiter.
When asked about recommending cosmetic veneers to others, Jeff replied, "Absolutely. People noticed immediately and continue to admire my new smile... I had total trust in Dr. Tom to make my teeth and smile right."
Not only do veneers fix cracks and whiten smiles, like in Jeff's case, but they can also:
Are veneers different from bonding? Yes they are! They are custom-made by lab technicians, and they are one solid piece applied to the tooth. Bonding is applied in layers, and can thus peel and fade away. Veneers are more natural looking and less likely to discolor than bonding too. Porcelain veneers allow light to shine through-just like natural tooth enamel.
Veneers are a wonderful cosmetic choice for many! Come on in for a consultation if you would like to discuss your options for your new and improved smile!
